Our Story

Meatheads opened in MIlan, IL in January 2004 by Bruce Schafman after the close of the Eagles Foods grocery store chain. Several ex-Eagles employees rolled up their sleeves and helped launch Meatheads Meat Market. In the years since faces have changed and many of the Schafman relatives could be spotted behind the counter, including Bruce's wife, and business partner, Lisa.

We have expanded in scope over time too. We now have two store locations, adding our Bettendorf, IA location in April of 2017. Our Milan, IL store features a cookout from spring through fall. Our Bettendorf, IA location features our Meatheads Food Truck, which serves at the store and is available for private and public events. We can also be found at the Freight House Farmer's Market in downtown Davenport, IA. Where ever you choose to visit us our friendly staff will be there to help you. We know we have the best staff in the Quad Cities. Plus, Meatheads stores always have a Meat-cutter on duty for questions or specialty cuts.

Meatheads is focused on providing our customers premium, fresh cut Midwest raised meats without chemical enhancements at prices that often beat our competition. We pride ourselves on the huge selection of handmade/homemade premium bratwurst. Where else can you get a Philly Cheesesteak, Mac & Cheese, Apple Bacon Smoked Gouda, or Gummi Bear Brat? With 56 varieties of bratwurst and 40 types of smoked items (including snack sticks, whole muscle jerky, and salmon) we’re confident you’ll find something to love at Meatheads Meat Market.

Meatheads is outstanding! The selection is great and there is something for everyone. We love to stop in for a pork chop sandwich straight off the grill.
